Lucky Bamboo

Lucky Bamboo (which isn´t actually bamboo but dracaena) can grow in both water and soil. At a year and a half, this is one of my oldest plants. I started in her in water, but when she was six months old, I switched to soil after reading that Lucky Bamboo tends to live longer in soil.

This little beauty lives in my windowless bathroom! However, I have an ingenious method for giving her additional sunlight--reflection! I installed a full length mirror on the bathroom door, which when open, faces the bedroom´s southeasterly window. With thre door partially open just right, light is reflected directly on to little Lucky.

Sheś a slow grower, but she is growing!
